The story of a colorful idea

I would like to express my gratitude to David and Radka Pěničková, the owners of DOMOV DOMA in Lomnice nad Popelkou, as well as to the management of the home for the wonderful cooperation and the invaluable life experience.

The Story of a Colorful Idea
DOMOV DOMA was conceptualized with a clear vision, and we wanted the basic interior decoration to be cohesive and systematic. At the same time, we aimed to bring a certain vibrancy to the interior. That's why we reached out to sculptor Alexandra Koláčková, whose works are strikingly original in both color and composition, and whose style we greatly admire.
Alexandra Koláčková designed and created a pleasantly colorful ceramic element for our home, which spans three floors and symbolizes life flowing through each level as it does through different stages, beginning and ending somewhere beyond sight. This reflects the experience all of us have with our own lives. They are not straight lines; they twist, knot, and unknot, and we do not remember their beginning—while the end is always somewhere ahead of us as long as we breathe. None of us lives a black-and-white life; our stories are composed of colors. Even old age, which we often decline and conjugate here in our home, is certainly not just gray, even though it may have gray hair. Each person’s life story is uniquely diverse—and in our home, we work with the life stories of our clients as we provide care.
